Outside My Window

A mama cardinal bird built a nest right outside of my boys' bedroom window. The boys said they saw some eggs in there, but I couldn't spot them myself.

A couple of days later, three tiny heads with open mouths could be seen above the rim of the nest.

A little while later, after standing still and quiet for a very long time, we were able to watch the babies' daddy feed them something yummy.

It was so cool to be able to observe this so closely. I only wish I had taken these pictures with a better camera. My phone isn't doing the experience justice.

I wonder how long the cardinal family will stick around in our tree!
